WALT: Write down what we learned in the Book of knowledge/Comprehension.

This week for writing I read an article called Producers, Consumers, and Decomposers, and the task was to write down three or more things about what I learned from the article.

I learned that in the forest every living thing is sorted into three categories called producers, consumers, and decomposers.
I also learned that owls have good eyesight and hearing.

Kapa Haka

WALT: Perform a poi

Today at Kapa Haka we have been learning a new poi for an upcoming production in week 8.

I found it easy to do the poi because I already know it.

I really enjoyed doing Kapa Haka because my favorite part of Kapa Haka is when we get to do the poi.

Next time I need to try not to laugh when I accidentally mess up because I tend to do that sometimes.

If you want to see what poi we are doing just click on this video.

Sports with Matua Paulo

On Wednesday my class and I went out to do sports with Matua Paulo.

We were learning how to use techniques for when we were running so we could run properly.

I found it easy to understand and use the techniques.

I really enjoyed it because we got to do and learn something new.

Next time I need to try and use it more because on one of the times we had to use the techniques that were taught I nearly tripped over.

Vitamin G for Your Mind

WALT: Write down what we learned in the Book of knowledge/Comprehension.

This week in reading our teacher (Miss Peters) assigned us to a Comprehension article where we had to answer the questions correctly but for this blog post I will be writing down what I learned.

The article that I read was called Vitamin G for Your Mind is about how staying inside is affecting our daily life and I learned quite a few things from that article.

I learned that staying inside too much can cause depression or ADHD for kids that spend too much time inside.

I also learned that being outside and being more active can help with depression or ADHD and can also help motivate people to do more things.

Which one do you choose?

Niue language week 2020

 WALT: Understand Niue language week

What is the Niue language week about?

Niue language week is a week that gives students and kids (such as myself) the opportunity to learn about the Niue culture through song, dance, and cultural displays.

Why is it important?

In my opinion, Niue Language week is important because it isn't spoken that much just like how the Maori language isn't spoken that much but when we have a week to celebrate and learn that language it gives everyone an opportunity to learn more about the culture and language.

I also learned how to say three Niue words which are Fakaalofa atu (Hello), Mua Kia (Goodbye to two people), and Fakaalifa lahi atu kia mua (Hello to two people).

Maths word problem

WALT: Solve Multi-Step word problems

This week for maths our teacher gave us a math word problems slide where we have to complete two every day.

I found it easy to work out the equations because I have been practicing my maths.

I found it hard to come up with an equation for the beginning of the layout.

I really enjoyed doing this task because it was a bit of a challenge.

Next time I need to try and work the problems out properly because I remember getting some wrong but went back and corrected them.
