Our Home Planet - What Are Hurricanes?

WALT:  Increase our knowledge by reading a wide range of texts (Article a day - Book of Knowledge)

Today's task was to write sentences about what we learned from the article a day we were assigned to, here is mine.

I learned that hurricanes are storms that swirl around and can go at 119 kilometers per hour, which is faster than the fastest land animal, a cheetah.
I also learned that hurricanes are categorized,e.g Category 1: Winds 119-153 km/hr (74-95 mph) - faster than a cheetah which is the one I was talking bout before.

Our home planet - What Are Clouds?

WALT: Increase our knowledge by reading a wide range of texts (Article a day - Book of Knowledge)

Our task today was to write 2-3 sentences about an article a day we did on Readworks. Maybe next time I can add more detail by explaining it more.

I learned that clouds form from water in the sky and that the water evaporates into the air from the ground and other places.
I also learned that high clouds form several kilometers up in the sky, with the exact height depending on the temperatures where they form.

Caricature art

WALT: Create and make a Caricature.

Here in room 5 we had to create a caricature and post it to our blog.
I learned that a caricature is a drawing that shows what detail on your face shows the most, and I really enjoyed drawing this because I could see what detail on my face shows the most which are my eyes.
Maybe next time I can try to improve on drawing the vivid lines and the dye.

Inquiry (Nano girls)

WALT: Explore Kiwis lives and their stories of overcoming challenges

This week we had to do inquiry activities, and I chose to do the Nano girls tiny houses activity and for this activity, we had to write whether or not we wanted to live in one of the tiny houses and why. Here's mine:

I would love to live in one of the Nano girls' tiny houses because they are safe, and even though they are small houses they have a lot of storage space.
I also like how they have plumbing as well, and things that can fold or come out or slide out because when they are not out it means that there is plenty of space.
Finally what I like about it the most is that there are some with a toe bar so you can take it anywhere.
