Inquiry (Nano girls)

WALT: Explore Kiwis lives and their stories of overcoming challenges

This week we had to do inquiry activities, and I chose to do the Nano girls tiny houses activity and for this activity, we had to write whether or not we wanted to live in one of the tiny houses and why. Here's mine:

I would love to live in one of the Nano girls' tiny houses because they are safe, and even though they are small houses they have a lot of storage space.

I also like how they have plumbing as well, and things that can fold or come out or slide out because when they are not out it means that there is plenty of space.

Finally what I like about it the most is that there are some with a toe bar so you can take it anywhere.

                           

Tiger Tale

I learned that there has been a big change from 1910 and there were over 100,000 tigers roaming the earth.

I also learned that one of their threats are the loss of there habitat. 

Today In reading I had to write 2 or more sentences about what I learned about this article, and maybe next time I can try and add more detail into it.

What is a complex sentence?

Original: My little sister is so irritating until I give her something. 

My little sister is so irritating while I’m eating because she steals my food.

Original: The dolphin jumped up from the water.

The dolphin jumped up from the water because it felt playful.

Original: Tim Peake is a famous British astronaut.

Tim Peake is a famous British astronaut when he went into space.

Original: The house on the hill remained unsold.

The house on the hill remained unsold because it was in bad condition.

Complex sentence:

We were on a safari in Africa, and then we saw a black-maned lion that was fighting another black-maned
lion for a female lion until she ran away.

My mother looked in the side view mirror and then she saw a dinosaur, we jumped out of the car just
before it ate our car, and then it ran away.

I was running while my sister was riding her bike until a bright beam was over after I saw that I ran over to her, once I got her I ran to our house, and before I knew it I was there.

The water was as cold as the artic, although she was determined to beat the world record.
